The two founder members took initiative to start the activities of Book distribution in their personal capacity to support the kids in the underprivileged tribal areas. These activities were started by the Founder members even before the company was formed. Given the fact that 30% attendance ratio in secondary education of the poorest 20% and with lack of financial support to education from grade 8 and onwards, Students in Maharashtra, India are deprived of their right to education, Founder members believed that books are the only doorway to the world of knowledge and power.
Keeping in mind the need of the books from 9th standard onward and request from family, teachers to carry on the program, which was started during the year 2018, founder members being encouraged with the success of book distribution project during 2018, went one step ahead in getting the company incorporated during the year to give the project a corporate look.
New thing in our project is the use of tremendous technology in the system by bringing entire system over the ERP, so that we can carry out entire activity in a coordinated manner. When we showcased our technology with Mr. Kent Wong of Chow Tai Fook, he was impressed with the same and he happily accepted our invitation to become a first corporate partner for the projects launched by Touch a Life Foundation Hong Kong Ltd.
Kent Wong puts forward his comment as follows:
“Upholding the spirit of “Do Good Feel Good”, we share Touch A Life’s belief in empowering children towards the betterment of the society. We truly hope that our support on “Books for Change” can serve as an encouragement to the underprivileged children and youths in India to pursue their dreams”
Education has only one purpose. Equip the young for tomorrow. Over the last few decades, technology has made immense changes to human life. We are literally going through a new revolution - "the digital revolution". It is slowly but steadily, revamping our education system which till now seems to have got stuck into a few hundred years in the past. If we are going to be the teachers of new generations then we have to become proactive in learning these technologies.
Teacher-preparation programs provide "educators-to-be" with the tools, mentors, and hands-on experience they will need. Therefore it is critical to pay a close attention on what we train, how we train and support both new and experienced educators.
It is imperative for veteran teachers to have ongoing and regular opportunities to learn from each other. Ongoing professional development keeps teachers up-to-date on new research on how children learn, emerging technology tools for the classroom, new curriculum resources, and much more.
The best professional development is an ongoing, experimental, collaborative, and connective way of working with each other and understanding the requirements with respect to Technologies.
In current situation, Technology is an integral part for the success for any type of organisation, whether it be corporate world, institution or any Charitable foundation. In such a situation, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is imperative to bring efficiency in the existing system such as information of school, syncing resources of the school for their benefit.
ERP system developed by Touch a Life is made in such a way that, data of students with their academic records, student's improvement area, attendance data, QR based Identity Card, event management, Teacher's information, school's information are systematically captured and report is able to be made as per the specific requirement.
Touch A Life has successfully took an initiative to bring the light to the lives of rural children.
We introduced a new campaign that brought us closer to a world where there is absolutely limited access to health and education facilities available. We wish for a world where every child is educated, healthy and happy.
The health care camps, which was organised for the purpose of health checkups, consultations with a proper insights about the health. Doctors and volunteers provided students with a greater understanding into the importance of health, hygiene and sanitation. The team of doctors carried out health check up of students then made a health card for each student.
With an under 30% attendance ratio in Secondary Education of the poorest 20% and with the lack of financial support to education from grade 8 and onwards, children in Maharashtra are deprived of their right to education. We believe that books are the doorway to a world of knowledge and power.
